Alcatel OT-C701a Cell Phone Arrives

A bright orange flip called the Alcatel’s OT-C701a has arrived in North America. The basic handset is an attractive dual-band (850/1900MHz) GSM phone.

The 83g (2.9oz) OT-C701a has the usual VGA camera and a 65k color 128×160 pixel display, but also sports music playback features. A2DP stereo capable Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot for storing MP3, M4a, AAC, or AAC+ music files and 1GB in capacity can be used with the Elle 3’s microSD slot.

The C701a has a 700mAh battery that should be able to power it for 10 hours of music playback, 7 hours of talk time, or up to 12.5 days of standby time. Other colours available include: orange, black, and light blue - all of which are soft-touch paints that have a somewhat rubber like feel to them.

Alcatel and TCL (manufacturer of the phones) are trying to crack the North American market with cheap but stylish handsets.
